It may be meant for “smaller” children and naive at times, but don’t judge just because I like cartoons. 🙂 I also started watching Sabrina, which is a small note to explain my avatar change. Well, I hope everyone else is enjoying the week with the Olympics and all. I guess now we know the moon may play a key role in all this. So my guess this links with the upcoming Lunar Colony. In the top right we see a grid, possibly serving as a navigation tool. My guess is that it’s either the speed or fuel, though PHB reader Fuzzy-B points out that it looks like the EMF Detector from Ghost Story Island. There’s some sort of moon rover mean to traverse these rocky environments. In the picture there’s not much, except that we can obviously inference it’s on a moon-like surface…and obviously the moon. So, I guess there really is some kind of man on the moon. Where did that saying come from? Who knows? But I’m sure it means somewhere along the lines of “an imaginary figure resembling the counterpart of a man’s face.” Sounds confusing, but if taken literally… that’s where the new sneak peek comes in on the Creators’ Blog today. The wondrous orchestra fits the theme of exploring an unknown territory, such as the moon. Our first song is “Lunar Colony”, an obvious nod to Lunar Colony Island. In other news, Poptropica composer Jeff Heim uploaded three new Pop soundtracks to Soundcloud! ( Thanks to MaryannTheConqueror for the news) The titles of these songs hint at two classic island remasters in the works: Lunar Colony Island and Ghost Story Island.

And in my opinion, Lunar Colony is definitely one of those stories that deserves more appreciation than it got. Outer space is a vast place, and there have been an array of stories taking place beyond the stars. Lunar Colony’s world seems to be in a much more modern, technological era, as opposed to Astro-Knights’ medieval theme.

While Astro-Knights mainly features the clockpunk genre, Lunar Colony takes a scientific approach on the cosmos. Something else I found intriguing about this island is how it, similar to Astro-Knights, focuses on outer space - except the two islands couldn’t be more different. It would be cool to see an option to change eye color added to the Colorizer someday 👀 Now that alien life has been confirmed, people are starting to regain interest in outer space, and the president has promised whatever money PASE needs to keep their space program going! What Salerno did was a heroic move, but the truth still remains that your mission all along - to bring Salerno back to Earth - didn’t end quite as expected, and it’s those final parts of the island that really make Lunar Colony stand out in my eyes. Of course, Salerno’s escape did do quite a bit of good for PASE.

But when you activate the alien portal at the end, the tables are turned, and Salerno ends up escaping once and for all. From the beginning, your mission was to find Salerno and bring her safely home.
The main reason Lunar Colony’s ending stood out so much from other islands is because it’s one of very few, if not the only, island where you fail your mission (in a sense). “I know you were supposed to bring me back to Earth, but I’m sorry, that’s not my mission.
